Frequently asked questions
General information about contacting the office and what to expect. For a specific matter, please consult a qualified professional.
How do I contact the office, and what happens next?
Use the enquiry form on the contact page, telephone the office during office hours, or send a WhatsApp message. The office reads each enquiry and aims to reply within one week, by telephone or from its own mailbox. Nothing is sent to you automatically when you submit the form, so keep your own note of what you sent and when.
Can a consultation take place by telephone or video?
Yes. Consultations are held in person at the Naraingarh office, by telephone or by video; say which you prefer in the enquiry form. A consultation asked for through this website is a request, not a booking: the office confirms a date and time with you, and for a video consultation tells you how to join. Telephone consultations the office has confirmed take place between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM and between 5:00 PM and 8:00 PM on working days.
What should I bring to a first meeting?
Bring the papers that relate to the matter: notices, orders, agreements, returns, statements and any correspondence, in the order they were received. A short written note of the dates and events helps. Do not send original records or identity numbers through the enquiry form or by email beforehand; the office tells you what it needs, and how to share it, after reading your enquiry.
Which courts and places does the office appear in?
Matters are taken up before the district courts in Haryana and Chandigarh, the Punjab and Haryana High Court and the Supreme Court of India. Tax matters go before the income-tax and GST appellate authorities and tribunals; service matters before the Central Administrative Tribunal; and other matters before consumer commissions, the Debt Recovery Tribunal or an arbitral tribunal, as the case requires. The office works with people and businesses in India and abroad.
Is the content of this website advice?
No. Everything on this website is general information. It is not legal, tax, accounting or other professional advice, and it is not written with your circumstances in mind. Nothing here says what the outcome of any matter will be. Reading the website or sending an enquiry does not make you a client. For your own situation, please consult a qualified professional. The disclaimer sets out the position in full.
How is the personal data from the enquiry form used?
The details you give are used to read your enquiry, reply to it and arrange any consultation you ask for. They are stored on the website's server in India for the office to read, and are not used for greetings or updates unless you separately choose that. The website uses no analytics or tracking. The privacy policy explains what is collected, who can see it and for how long it is kept.
How do I withdraw consent or ask for a correction?
Write to the Grievance Officer at the address on the Grievance Officer page, or telephone the office during office hours. You may ask for a copy of your personal data, have it corrected or erased, or withdraw a consent you gave. A request is acknowledged within three working days and answered within one month. Withdrawing is meant to be no harder than agreeing was.
Can I pay online?
Not at present. No payment is collected on this website, and no card or bank details are asked for anywhere on it. Fees are agreed with the office directly, in Indian Rupees, before work starts. The Pay Online page states the current position, and the refund and cancellation policy explains how fees already paid are handled.
